Taking a moment to appreciate the magical world of the Ocean in a “World Ocean day dip” it’s been a long time since Carol and I dipped together, we have a long history of beach walks, river and sea swimming and scuba diving. We love a little water, a good swim the freedom that is awarded from being at one with nature, being part of that wild space, seeing birds dive for food around you or seals pop up for a closer inspection of this strange creature in their home.

We watched Ocean today at Dalton park, brought to our local cinema by Climate Action North and The Sea We See, such a powerful film that re-affirmed the learning and experiences I have amassed over the last 30years. It breaks my heart to think someone such as David Attenborough will not be around for my forever, to continue his amazing work through this exceptionally important time. I hope he is around long enough to see significant positive change. To believe his message was heard, understood and acted upon. To know his life’s work was not in vain.

This film has moved me, I hope I am strong enough to propel my vision as he has propelled his.
