Durham County Council Environment Awards 2024

Well yesterday was a real privilege!

In 2022 I was introduced to the #themotion4theocean when I digitally attended the Coastal Futures 2022 and Emily Cunningham MBE presented this amazing declaration/pledge for local councils. Seaham Town Council was one of the first Town councils in the northeast to make the declaration of an Ocean emergency and I have made it my personal mission to do justice to this pledge. With a combined 50 years experience working in on and playing under all the oceans of the world my husband and I have supported this venture in our council. Together with the unwavering

support of our acting town Clerk, the Mayors over the years and the council members that have the drive to save our oceans, together we have achieved this recognition.

The Sea we See was born out of this work and the work I did with Explore SeaScapes another product of the amazing Emily Cunningham MBE.
